What GingerCat creates
GingerCat exports the conversation as a document, not as a screenshot of the browser window. That keeps headings, lists, tables and code easier to read later.
Open the ChatGPT export page1. Open the ChatGPT conversation
Open the thread you want to keep in Chrome, then open GingerCat from the toolbar. The extension reads the supported chat page you already have open only when you ask it to export.
2. Choose the right scope
- Full conversation is best for a complete record.
- AI answers only is useful when your prompts are not needed in the final document.
- Selected messages is useful for shorter handoffs or excerpts where supported by the page structure.
3. Export and review the PDF
Choose PDF for a stable readable file. If you plan to edit the content, DOCX or Google Docs may be a better destination. If you want a notes-friendly archive, Markdown can be cleaner.
Protected provider images or files may be included, referenced or skipped depending on what the browser session can safely access at export time.
4. Decide whether PDF is the right result
Browser printing can be useful for a quick one-off capture. A document export is better when you need a readable record with chat roles, headings, lists, tables or code kept in a consistent layout. Choose the format based on what happens next: PDF for review or sharing, DOCX or Google Docs for editing, and Markdown for a notes workflow.
5. Check the export before you share it
For a useful record, confirm that you chose the right conversation scope and that the first and last messages are present. Scan long tables, code blocks, image references and attachment references before sending the file to someone else. This is especially useful for client work, research notes and decisions that need an audit trail.
Can you save an entire ChatGPT conversation as PDF?
Yes. Open the supported ChatGPT web conversation, choose Full conversation in GingerCat, select PDF, and review the exported file. For a shorter handoff, choose AI answers only or selected messages where the chat page supports selection.
